A little clarity about your information

Your space.
Your details.

This notice explains how the Lavenda website handles the information you choose to provide for cleaning and homecare services.

Updated 19 October 2026

Who to contact

Lavenda Cleaning & Homecare Services, serving Nairobi and surrounding areas. For a question or request about your information, contact 0790 516 361 or message Lavenda on WhatsApp.

What you provide

A service request includes your name, contact number, selected services and written location. You may also provide a preferred date, service details, notes, a confirmed map pin and photos. Subsequent records can include quotation responses, appointment change requests, feedback and recorded payments.

Your map pin and photos are optional. A written estate or area can be used when you do not wish to add a pin. Large supported photos may be resized on your device before upload. Photos kept in their original form may still include information embedded by your device.

How it is used

Lavenda uses these details to assess your request, prepare quotations, contact you, arrange and carry out agreed work, record payments and receipts, and respond to feedback or concerns. The website also keeps necessary activity records to protect access and maintain accurate business records.

Confirming a service request allows Lavenda to use the submitted details for that request. It is not permission to publish your photos or feedback, and it does not sign you up for marketing. Feedback submitted through your request page stays private unless you tick the box that allows Lavenda to show it on the website; then only your rating, message, first name and last initial may appear, and only if Lavenda chooses to show it. A concern is never published.

When Lavenda turns on automatic updates, you may receive short SMS or WhatsApp messages about your own request: that it was received, that a quotation is ready, appointment confirmations, changes and a reminder the evening before, a receipt and a thank-you. They contain your first name, a reference and, for some updates, your private link. You can turn them off on your request page at any time.

Your private request link

Your request has a private link that opens its details, issued quotations, service updates and receipts. The link can also be used to respond to a quotation or send a service-related request. Anyone holding the link can access that request, so share it only with the people who should have that access.

Contact Lavenda if a private link is lost or shared with someone unintended. A reference number or phone number by itself does not open your request.

Who can access the records

The authorised business owner can manage service and payment records. Where a team member is assigned to your work, their access is limited to the relevant job information. Website hosting, database and file-storage providers process information needed to operate the service. When automatic updates are on, your phone number and the message are passed to the messaging provider that delivers them (Africa’s Talking for SMS, or Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform). If you pay with M-Pesa from your request page, your phone number and the amount go to Safaricom so it can send the payment prompt; Safaricom then confirms the payment and its M-Pesa receipt number to Lavenda.

When you choose to open WhatsApp or Google Maps, that service handles the information you share with it under its own policies. The optional map editor loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap when you open it. Location permission is requested only after you choose to use your current location. The website checks for a closer estimate for up to 25 seconds, then stops. Adjusting or confirming a pin, closing the map or leaving the page stops the check. Only a pin you confirm is included in your draft; location history is not collected. An optional area-search link opens Google Maps only when you choose it.

Optional nearby names

Choosing Show nearby names sends an approximate map position, rounded to three decimal places, through Lavenda to Photon’s public map lookup service. Your name, phone number, booking details and access notes are not included. The position is used to find nearby named roads, areas or places; it does not change your entrance pin or confirm an address.

Lavenda temporarily caches these map results in server memory for up to 15 minutes and keeps request-limit counters to manage usage. The nearby names are not saved as your service address. Photon operates the external lookup service and may keep operational request logs. You can use the map and confirm a pin without choosing this lookup.

Browser storage and service records

The enquiry draft and a small list of recent request links can be kept in the current browser tab to help you continue after a refresh or an interrupted connection. Selected photos must be chosen again after a refresh. Closing or clearing the browser tab may remove these local details; keep your private request link if you want to return later.

Submitted requests and business records are stored separately from your browser. Clearing the browser or removing a recent link does not delete the saved service record. The website’s offline fallback does not make private requests or payment records available offline.

Retention, corrections and requests

Lavenda keeps service records to manage enquiries and work, maintain payment records and address service questions. A single automatic deletion period is not currently set for all record types.

You can ask Lavenda about the information held for your request, request a correction or ask for deletion. Lavenda will review the request and any records that need to be retained for the service or applicable obligations. You may be asked to confirm that the information relates to you before private records are disclosed or changed.
